Q: What is the WindowsTM registry?
A: The WindowsTM Registry is a large and advanced database. It holds thousands of settings that the computer needs to
make your PC run efficiently. Essentially these settings compose the instructions for a computer, telling it how to programs
should be loaded, how to allocate resources, and how to arrange user profiles.
Q: How does the health of the Registry affect my PC?
A: The registry is being altered constantly through a series of automatic events. Whenever programs are added or removed, the
registry is changed. Whenever hardware is connected or disconnected, drivers updated, user settings altered, or add-ons
installed, the registry is changed. For the most part this alteration is well managed, but over time, duplicate, redundant,
and even corrupted entries get added to the registry. As more and more issues accumulate, the PC begins to exhibit problems
such as slow performance, program instability, slow boot up speed end even computer freezes.
